  • Patrick Mahomes is The #1 Quarterback in the NFL

We are only two weeks into the NFL season and Patrick Mahomes has already started his revenge tour. After his ex-receiver spent the offseason downplaying how great Mahomes was , the Super Bowl MVP has started 2-0 with Seven Touchdowns and 595 yards passing. During a short week against a division rival, the Chiefs beat the Chargers 27-24 after trailing in the fourth quarter. The Chargers led the chiefs until the last 30 seconds of the third quarter. Chris Jones (Chiefs DT) also showed off with two full sacks of his own, while Justin Herbert threw over 300 yards with three touchdowns and ONE crucial interception up 17-14 with less than 30 seconds in the 3rd quarter. Taking the lead started with a pick six and "A great jump by the rookie Watson" said the CBS broadcast booth, and the 27 points was finished by a career long 52-yard-run for Clyde Edwards-Helaire to set up a field goal. Chiefs fans may have been worried about losing the Cheetah, but currently their team is boat racing the rest of the league, captained by the baby GOAT Patrick Mahomes. P.s. Mahomes is my official pick for MVP 2022

  • Sun Devils Reveal 3 Headed Monster in Week One Victory

The Sun Devils showcased dominant Offense, Defense, and Special Teams in Thursday's win over Northern Arizona University. Emory Jones was the best player on the field, with 198 yards and two touchdowns. The two-headed rushing attack of Valladay and Ngata combined for 176 yards, with Vallday rushing in two touchdowns. Simply put, the team hasn't skipped a beat behind the 5th-year head coach and motivational guru Herm Edwards, and after losing Jaden McDaniel a season ago, these new stars have given Sun Devil fans reason for a good night's sleep. The Jones, Valladay, and Johnson-led offense wasn't the only performance on campus; the Defense was spectacular. Holding NAU to 3 points with two interceptions and 2.2 yards per play. The only time they allowed movement was of their own consequence. The must-see play of the night goes to Emory Jones 17-yd rushing touchdown. And we cannot forget to mention the freshman kicking stud Carter Brown for his 4-4 night and his 43-yd long Field Goal. With all the big names entering ASU this season, redshirt sophomore Daniel Ngata stamped his name on this game with a 15-yard rush during ASU's second drive, and a 29-yard rush in the second quarter, to solidify an electric rushing trio. Without dimming the night too much the biggest correction Coach Edwards must address is playing disciplined in big moments. Two major penalties occurred on the same drive, and our beloved QB had a fumble with one minute left in the first half. However, the team is in for a night of celebration, with a stellar offensive performance and a night the secondary won't soon forget. They held the R.J. Martinez-led offense to only 119-yds, 96 of the 119 through the air, and two interceptions. Game Ball will undoubtedly go to new star RB Xazavian Valladay for his dominance on the ground, he had 119 rushing yards, 7.4 YPC, and two touchdowns. In the end, as Herm Edwards says, all that matters is ASU wins, 40-3. Enjoy the win my fellow Sun Devils, and look forward to a wonderful year together!

  • Uvalde Police Chief Fired for Not Following His Own Plan

It took nearly 90 minutes for the Uvalde School Board to vote to fire ex-School Police Chief Pete Arredondo, nearly the same amount time hundreds of police officers stood in hallways listening to 19 children and 2 teachers be slaughtered. The actions committed by the Uvalde Police Department has sparked outrage and protest across the country, and as investigations have continued, failures at all levels of the police force have become evident. Perhaps the most outrageous failure was the police chief failing to follow the school district's active shooter plan that he co-authored. The outrage stems from the inaction of 376 officers, specifically: 149 border patrol agents, 91 state patrol agents, 25 Uvalde Local Police, 16 Sheriff Deputies, and Pete Arredondo's school police force. These numbers are only made worse by the 240 patrol agents and Arredondo's crew who are specifically trained to handle "mass attacks in public places." Decidedly Arredondo will receive the front of the blame both legally and socially, and for those reasons Arredondo decided to no-show his hearing, instead releasing a 17-page statement. In his statement, he called the hearing a "public lynching" going as far as declaring the decision "illegal and unconstitutional." This is heart-wrenching, as the ex-chief seems to be more concerned over his job status, than the cowardly actions enforced under his leadership. The questions Uvalde raises are not new but are as significant as ever. Many point to countries like Australia, which banned guns in 1996 and since has only had 5 shootings with over 10 victims. Others blame poor parenting, and poor public policy, but stand behind our right to bear arms. The immediate question that should arise is, why is America the only country to experience significant mass- school-shootings? Many other first-world countries authorize the purchase of firearms, yet as America has had 288 shootings since 2009, the rest have had a total of 5 school shootings. So what do other first world countries do differently than America? The process to buy a firearm is more extenisve in most first-world countries. Americans know it as a two-step process to buy a gun. 1. pass an online background check. 2. Buy a gun Other countries that allow firearms, such as Japan, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, and Germany, all have a 6-7 step process. This typically includes proof of residence at a shooting club or hunting ground, two references, a training course, background checks, and fingerprints. Some countries choose to do interviews, and psych evaluations, ask for proof of danger, and in Mexico require you to travel to Mexico City, where the only authorized gun store is located. This due process of gun purchasing seems to be the largest difference between America and other countries. Therefore the logical first step in lowering school shooting would be our purchasing process. Below is a proposed list to change America's firearm purchasing process: Submit a federal online background check Take a one-day gun safety and training course submit 2 personal references, one outside of the household Undergo 1-hour psychological evaluation Submit bi-annual permit for a 30-day review This process would be completed in one day at the gun-safety course, take 30 days to approve, and need to be renewed every other year. This process would not inhibit our gun rights, nor would it take an extensive amount of time to complete, however, would make an effort to lower mass gun violence in our country, without taking an extreme side of the argument. Please leave your thoughts below, and thanks for reading, Martin Dreyfuss .

  • How The Jets Can Make The Playoffs in 2022

Competing against the Super Bowl favorite, the greatest coach of all time, and a dark-horse team on the rise, just in your own division, is already difficult. Going against one of the best divisions in football for the first 4 weeks of the season is another dangerous obstacle. Then add on the 2 Hall of Quarterbacks just for fun. Add all of that up, and I believe the Jets will still make the playoffs. I can already see your mouse moving and your face turning red, "who is this die-hard, making outlandish claims with no football knowledge?" And I will be the first to admit that I am a die-hard Jets fan. But us Jets fans are not like Cowboy fans, in fact, we expect our team to lose every year. And to preface this article, I believe we can win 7-9 games if we have a good year; but as I have dove into the schedule, I found a path in which the Jets could reach 10 wins and a potential playoff berth. Quarter One The first four weeks of the Jets' schedule will be brutal since the NFL seemingly added them to the AFC North. No one will bet on them to beat the Ravens or Bengals, and neither will I; however, if the Jets can beat a Watsonless Browns team and sneak past the tough but mediocre Steelers, they will get through the North 2-2. Quarter Two The Jets have the most challenging first-half schedule. After the AFC North, we face off against two division rivals and two Hall of Fame quarterbacks. First is the Dolphins, whose schedule is nearly as brutal in Q1 as the Jets, and with the Jets coming off a win, playing at home, we are going to carry the momentum for a W. Then we got the Packers. They still have a good defense and Aaron Rodgers, so we lose. For our next HOF QB, we face Russell Wilson, at home, in Broncos Country. We lose in Denver as well. This leaves our arch-rival, the Patriots. We lose. First Half So , by my calculations, the Jets are 3-5 in their first 8 games; that isn't outlandish, nor do they seem good enough to make the playoffs. But if the Jets can go 3-5 through the most brutal first half in Football, they can ride the momentum through one of the easiest second halves of the NFL. Quarter 3 The Bills win. Then we split with the Patriots, frankly because the only reason the Jets don't sweep is their coach. I know we are the Jets, and I know we get laughed at, but do we even need to talk about Chicago as an NFL team anymore? And finally is the ever-tough Minnesota Vikings, and coming off back-to-back wins, the Jets are gonna squeak out a victory. Yes, 3-1 to start the second half. Quarter 4 With the Jets now a 6-6 team, they are on the very outskirts of the playoffs, and it would be easy to say we just win out, but realistically after a Viking win, the Bills are gonna mop the floor with us again. This sets us up for three easy wins against the Lions, Jags, and Seahawks. Leaving the Jets at 9-7 going into their last game against a familiar team, The Miami Dolphins. So who is better Tua or Zach? Breece Hall or Raheem Mostert? Coach Saleh or Coach McDaniel? To me, it is the Jets, and the reason is simply Jacoby Brissett outperformed Tua last year, and Tua just isn't good enough to win games. Conclusion Although I am not saying it will happen, I have simply outlined a way for the Jets to go 10-7 with a shot to make the playoffs. My most extensive reaches are likely beating Minnesota and sweeping Miami, but if you are honest with yourself, that isn't the craziest thing to happen in the NFL. I was honest in losing to both HOF quarterbacks and being swept by the SB favorites, and overall I think this is a fair way to give optimism to all of us JETS FANS.
